Confession: I have a slight obsession with luxury brand makeup. I think it all started with my first YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick and how pretty it looked on my vanity. So after trading in for a $100 Macy’s gift card from MyPoints, I used it to buy the lovely Dior Rosy Glow Healthy Glow Awakening Blush. One can never have too many blushes or lipsticks!
While the name is somewhat long and convoluted (rosy glow healthy glow? which one is it? or is it both?), I do appreciate the idea behind the product. Much like my favorite Dior Addict Lip Glow, the blush reacts to the chemistry of your skin to create the perfect natural glow – no guessing required. How many times have you bought a blush thinking it’d look great on you, and then end up looking like a clown? Not an issue with this blush!
I’ll admit, what initially attracted me to this blush was its beautiful packaging – it comes in a sleek silver/acrylic case and has a velvet black pouch for storing the compact. On the inside it has a good sized mirror and a nice applicator/brush for touching up on the go.
Though I appreciate the velvet pouch, I’m not sure I’ll ever use it – that thing is like a magnet for cat hair/fluff! But for those you are extra-careful with their makeup, it can prevent the compact from getting scratched or the compact opening by accident.
One thing I appreciate about high-end makeup brands is the detail they put into their products. The blush itself is a beautiful matte pink imprinted with the Dior logo. Of course, that’s not going to be the color that actually shows up on your skin, though I really wouldn’t mind if it was. Seriously I can’t get enough of how pretty that pink is!
The powder itself is very fine and compressed well, so you don’t need to worry about any flaking. I’ve used the blush with the included brush and the $3 e.l.f blush brush, and both picked up the perfect amount of powder without any unnecessary dust flying everywhere.
Usually the brushes/applicators included in compacts suck, but I was impressed with this brush. It’s got a good density and is incredibly soft, so I’ve been using it exclusively with the blush. It’s especially nice when traveling, because now I have one less brush to pack :)
As you can see, the color of the blush changes upon application, leaving a slightly muted light pink hue. Usually one light sweep is enough to get colors on my cheek but for the sake of photography I applied 3 sweeps on the back of my hand so you can see the color.
Since this blush has a matte finish, I usually sweep a layer of highlighter over to give it a subtle glow. My favorite combination these past months have been the Dior Rosy Glow Healthy Glow Awakening Blush + Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette (Incandescent Light) = subtle glow that’s seriously gorgeous.
In terms of lasting power this blush is definitely one of the best I’ve come across. Powder blushes usually perform poorly during the summer, but I’ve been using this in 90+ degree weather with no problems. While the packaging makes it perfect for carrying it on the go, touchups aren’t necessary in my opinion :)

Ever since I bought this I've pretty much stopped using my other blushes. Why bother when this one is able to give me the perfect natural glow I've been looking for? On top of that it looks beautiful on my vanity and it lasts pretty much all day. Isn't this what we all want in a blush? This is the perfect example of you getting what you pay for - and I would definitely pay for this again when I run out. Good thing that won't be a while - a little goes a long way with this one!

I have not yet purchased any high end makeup. I have a lot of things on my wishlist but I just can’t bring myself to spend that much money on a product when I do not have a job yet. But one day I will.
However I love how pretty the pink is! I am glad that you liked it.
Thank you for your comment Elena! I definitely didn’t start buying high-end anything until I started working, and even then I still buy them sparingly and after I do a lot of research on the product. I have some more products I’d like to buy that’s on my wishlist, and that serves as my motivation when things get tough at work :P
