If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of Klairs products. Everything I’ve tried so far has been good, if not excellent and on my HG list. So when Wishtrend contacted me to try out the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop, I was like, um, heck yes!
The Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop comes in a small clear dropper bottle. It looks expensive, but it’s actually plastic, which can be good for the accident prone. Unfortunately the silver label has rubbed off, and it’s still rubbing off as I’ll see silver flakes on my fingers whenever I use this. As a big packaging snob I was a little disappointed by this, but let’s move on to the actual product.

So there are a couple good ingredients in here, mostly plant extracts with soothing and moisturizing properties. It also includes 5% ascorbic acid, aka Vitamin C, which has antioxidant and brightening properties. The 5% is also a lower dosage than the popular C20 Vitamin C Serum, so it’ll be less irritating for sensitive folks. There’s also Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, which is a stable form of Vitamin C, albeit near the end of the ingredients list.
Now ascorbic acid is easily destabilized by light and oxygen, which is why most Vitamin C serums come in dark airtight bottles. I was wondering why this came in a clear bottle, but due to its “hybrid stabilization technology” (whatever that means), the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop has improved stability and shelf-life compared to other ascorbic acid products. It must be working, because after 2 weeks the serum is still crystal clear.
Application & Experience
Droppers are nice because you can control how much you want to use, and you definitely don’t want to go overboard with this because it has a slightly thick oily feeling to it, despite being super watery. This product is just full of surprises and oxymorons, isn’t it?
Due to its texture and the low ascorbic acid %, I don’t treat this like an active, but rather as a serum. Since it feels heavier than most of my other serums, I use about 2-3 drops all over my face at the end of my serum step, right before I apply actual facial oils and moisturizer.
It absorbs rather quickly despite its texture but it does leave my face quite shiny. So to prevent the frying pan effect in the mornings, I mix 1-2 drops with my moisturizer instead, which actually helps with the application of both products. There’s still a slight shine, but it goes away after a while.
Oiliness aside, the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop does a good job of helping my skin retain its moisture and softness. After using it for 2 weeks I noticed my face wasn’t feeling as dry, and some of the redness that I had in my cheeks had gone away. I also noticed some subtle brightening, though that could be attributed to my increased usage in sheet masks (my dry skin really needed them).
Key Notes
- Great list of ingredients based on soothing plant extracts
- Depending on amount and application method used, this can work for all skin types
- Hydrates, plumps, and brightens (subtly) with continuous use
- Improved stability and shelf-life compared to other ascorbic acid products
- Low ascorbic acid % makes it suitable for sensitive skin, but also decreases potential effectiveness
- Packaging label rubs off easily
Final Verdict

- Performance8/10
- Price8/10
While I was initially turned off by the oily texture, I've slowly come to appreciate this product, especially since it has delivered on all its claims. Dry and sensitive skin will love the benefits this brings, while combination and oily skin can still use this by mixing it with their moisturizer. At $16, this is an affordable serum for anyone who's looking to add some oomph to their skincare and does't mind blah packaging.

Hi jenny! I am 23 years old and i have dehydrated combo to oily and acne prone skin..i never use any vit c serum and i really want to try it now… but the problem is i can’t deside which one to use between this Klairs Vit c or KHiels dark spot solution (which both u have reviewed) for fading my acne scar and improve my skin texture….Can u please help me and give your recommendation?? Thanks jenny!! Please help me..
Hi Ivy, thank you for stopping by! I didn’t have any acne scars when using these products so I can’t say how effective they are for that. But based on your skin type I think you might enjoy the Kiehl’s Dark Spot Solution more because it’s much lighter. The Klairs Vitamin Drop is on the heavier side, but you can always mix it into your moisturizer to offset the heaviness. Hope this helps!
I’ve been hesitating a lot, but I also want to really try this product. Can i use this with other serums? I’m currently using Missha’s TR Night Repair Science Activator Borabit Ampoule (nighttime) and It’s Skin’s Q10 Effector (daytime). I would like to add Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop to my skincare routine but I’m worried about the potency when used with other serums.
Hi Addie! There shouldn’t be an issue with using the Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop with the Missha or It’s Skin serums. Since the Klairs serum is heavier, I would suggest using the other serums first. Hope this helps!
Agreed that it looks expensive although the material is not.
The serum itself is colorless isn’t it?I was curious since you mention the stain.
It is colorless, so I thought it was weird that it stained my bench too. But it did go away after a few days, so it looks like a temporary thing :P
