Ingredients
Hydrogenated Ethylhexyl Olivate, Isododecane, Grape Seed Extract, Gardenia Tahitensis (Tiare) Flower Extract, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables, Coconut Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Argan Oil, Safflower Seed Oil, Avobenzone, Octinoxate, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Squalane, Tocopherol, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Fragrance.
This oil is actually blend of 6 different oils, which are listed pretty high on the list. Macadamia seed oil and argan oil are pretty popular oils you’ll see in hair products, and I’ve personally had great experience with coconut oil as well. Grape seed oil, sweet almond oil, and safflower seed oil are of the dryer oil types, making this great for fine hair folks as it won’t weigh your hair down.
Avobenzone and octinoxate are common UVA/UVB filters found in chemical sunscreens, and it’s nice to see it incorporated into a hair product. After all, research has shown that sun exposure can result in significant protein and color loss (source)!
Lastly this oil touts the inclusion of grape seed extract and tiare flower extract, which would’ve been nice if this oil is for your face. But your hair is essentially protein, which can’t absorb or process these extracts. Now you could apply the oil on your scalp, but who wants a greasy scalp right?
Overall Experience
I like using the Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil both before and after I blow dry my hair. Per the instructions, I use a dime-sized amount each time and it really makes my hair so softer and shinier.
Unlike my old favorite the Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment, this did not weigh my hair down one bit nor give it that slightly greasy look. I know a lot of people with fine hair tend to avoid treatment oils because of those very reasons, so I’m here to tell you, you friggin’ need the Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil!
And did I mention how delicious this entire line smells? It has this sweet, nutty scent that’s quite unlike anything I’ve smelled before, and after layering on the products from this line, my hair smells fantastic. Some people complained that the scent is overwhelming, but I didn’t find that to be the case at all. It’s definitely noticeable, but only if you get all up in your hair and take a big whiff. Besides, when it smells this good, I don’t think being noticeable is a bad thing!

If you have fine or thin hair, this is the hair oil for you. It provides all the benefits of a hair oil without the greasiness or weighing down of your hair. Plus it has SPF, which is must have especially if you color your hair. Lastly, did I mention it smells fantastic? The price is a bit cringe-worthy, but a little goes a long way with this one, so one bottle can last you a long time!
